Job Summary

The Senior Network Engineer will work in partnership with team lead to ensure team and overall success. He/she will participate in the design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing and modification of the core network infrastructure used for the distribution of premium video content. Previous experience supporting public facing mission critical web services and applications are required.

Major Activities To Ensure Achievement of Key Results and Deliverables

  • Design, expand and/or implement new production content delivery infrastructure (scalable, high-availability with no single-points-of-failure)
  • On-going management (i.e. data collection, resource forecasting, etc.) of existing infrastructure
  • Management and troubleshooting of network infrastructure as required to maintain optimal performance for content delivery across multiple geographies
  • Network and system security corporate-wide across multiple geographies and offices
  • Planning and coordinating complex projects across engineering, IT, and operations
  • Requirements change management
  • Partnering with Systems Architects, Project Managers, Developers and management to provide timely execution and support for content delivery, planning, implementation and increased system uptimes

Your Qualifications

  • 10+ years' experience designing, provisioning, managing and supporting complex computing infrastructures on a 7x24 basis
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-energy environment
  • Strong proficiency required in several of the following products and/or technologies:
  • Network software, security and appliances (i.e. Cisco/Juniper, routers, firewalls, load balancers, intrusion detection, etc.)
  • HA (high availability) and scalable network and system architectures
  • Knowledge of QoS, multi-cast and load-balancing techniques
  • Routing protocols: BGP, RIP, OSPF
  • TCP/IP networking
  • UNIX/Linux administration
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot complex multi-vendor network issues (WAN, LAN)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Knowledge of other popular Internet programming languages and open source frameworks
  • Shell Scripting using bash or equivalent
  • Systems scripting using PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby or equivalent
  • Familiarity with video caching technology and delivery services
  • Required travel up to 50%
