Job Summary
This position will serve as the chief data architect for Avail-TVN's Integrated Data Project. The purpose of this project is to collect and analyze data from numerous distributed systems that is related to the consumption of video content. The data collected will be analyzed in various ways and used to provide information on improvements to overall video ecosystems to maximize revenue and consumption.
Major Activities To Ensure Achievement of Key Results and Deliverables
- Develop a data architecture that can house the massive amounts of data being collected today as well as in the near future
- Design and build the underlying database for the Integrated Data Project with an eye toward data warehousing and business intelligence
- Analyze and understand existing databases, work with existing DBAs to optimize these platforms for compatibility with the Integrated Data Project, including maintaining data integrity / referential integrity
- Provide technical leadership in working with analysts and project contributors working with the data
- Develop and maintain processes ensuring data integrity
- Direct others and assist in coding logical and physical access to the data
- Direct programmers and analysts to make changes to existing databases in order to support the Integrated Data Project
- Analyze data access patterns and optimize access to the data which balances needs of the business with costs and performance
Your Qualifications
- Four (4) year BS degree in Computer Science or higher education
- 5+ years minimum DBA experience
- 3-5 years minimum data analyst experience
- Previous experience in data warehousing, distributed data analyst, and advanced technologies, such as MapReduce, Hadoop, etc.
- Windows and Linux Operating Systems
- C, C# and Visual Studio/.Net
- Software development experience highly desired
