Job Summary
The Financial Reporting Manager will be key in the preparation of the company’s financial reporting, both internally and externally. Position will perform technical accounting research and make recommendations for company reporting and decision-making.
Major Activities to ensure achievement of key results and deliverables
- Prepare and review recurring financial reporting packages, including current reporting to the Board of Directors, lenders, and senior management.
- Assist in transitioning company’s current periodic reporting to be in compliance with the rigorous standards for data, accuracy, and timeliness required by a public company.
- Research and writing of memoranda regarding technical accounting matters
- Assist with the establishment of accounting policies and procedures to meet both current and future business models
- Oversee revenue recognition for linear and equipment sales and assist with the implementation of new revenue recognition methodologies
- Oversee key metrics reports and coordinate with FP&A group regarding regular reporting and analysis
- Review company contracts for financial implications and make recommendations to management as appropriate
- Develop and put into effect internal financial controls to ensure the integrity of the company's closing process and financial function, with an eye toward SOX compliance.
- Coordinate with the Treasurer on stock options and stock award reporting; responsible for stock compensation expense
- Adhoc financial analysis and projects as required
Additional Responsibilities
- Prepare pro-forma historical financial data as necessary
- Oversee the continuous improvement of accounting and financial processes and the development of staff with the goal to achieve best practices and optimal output
- Analyze actual costs vs budget and prior year costs and prepares variance explanations
- Help manage the external review and audit processes
- Assist in the annual budget process
Your Qualifications
| Knowledge,Skills, and Experience |
- Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university. CPA required
- Four to six years of Big 4 public accounting experience required; additional experience with a publicly traded company preferred
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP & SEC reporting requirements
- Significant experience with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and related requirements
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and analyses
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with SAP a plus
- Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule
- Media,cable, and/or telecommunications industry experience preferred
