Job Summary
Oversee and manage Procurement, including processes related to capital equipment purchases, contracting services, inventory, and the bidding processfor commodities and contracts. Responsible for vendor relationship management and internal communications with Product Engineering and Sales Engineering, Finance and other departments as required.
Preference will be given to candidates who bring customer-facing experience across an array of functions. Excellent customer support must be maintained at all times to both internal and external customers.
The ideal candidate for this position must be able to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth work environment, be able to tolerate ambiguity as we develop processes and operate entrepreneurially to accomplish deliverables.
Essential Functions
- Plans, directs, and manages the central procurement activities
- Responsible for all inventory management including all RMA activity
- Develops, reviews, and approves new or improved purchasing processes to maintain efficiency of operation;
- Evaluates overall revisions, price and past performance of each contract and works with Sales Engineering and Sales to approve price increases;
- Maintains Items Master (Qualified Products List)
- Creates responses to special correspondence and handles special assignments and problems
- Establishes priorities, assigns workloads and reviews the more difficult and complex assignments;
- Interprets contract provisions and reviews contracts for accuracy and changes prior to bid and renewal;
- Provides liaison between vendors, contractors, and internal requestors
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelorís degree in Business or Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years minimum experience of prior experience in management and procurement required.
- Must possess strong working knowledge of Accounting software; Contact Management systems; Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; Manufacturing software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
- Procurement methods and procedures of a large scale centralized purchasing function including buying, quality assurance, and contract administration.
- Knowledge of Commodity markets and price trends.
- Knowledge of general computer parts.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Proven understanding of trends and identifying key issues in acomplex situation.
- Exceptional skill to organize work and set priorities.
- Strategic Thinking/Agility: Has a strong understanding of the business challenges, needs, and expectations of a wide range of customers across multiple business segments. Possesses sound business instincts, and strong customer and market orientation/focus.
