Avail-TVN provides a revolutionary gateway that transforms your vision into a revenue-generating reality - ready for delivery to your customers, over your network, branded by you. You own the subscriber, while we eliminate the expense and staff support required for a do-it-yourself, MPEG-4, digital headend.
Compelling Content
Avail-TVN has secured the necessary transport rights required by the major national programmers and specialty broadcasters, allowing us to offer a compelling choice of linear video and audio channels for your IPTV channel line-up. We have put together hundreds of Standard Definition ("SD"), premium video, High Definition ("HD"), and digital audio choices, from the largest and most well-known media companies.
Encoding
Avail-TVN encodes all of our linear source video in MPEG-4 AVC constant bit-rate streams, using a state-of-the-art encoding platform that wraps each channel in an IP multicast address for a network-ready feed at your facility.
Super Headends
Avail-TVN operates multiple Super Headend (SHE) facilities, where content is aggregated, encoded in MPEG4 AVC (H.264), and encrypted prior to being uplinked to satellite. Multiple SHEs and satellites are used to ensure redundancy and flexibility in our service.
Satellite Transport
The fully-encrypted, MPEG-4 encoded, IP multicast streams are uplinked to satellite transponders that provide coverage across all 50 U.S. states. The content is then received at an Avail-TVN Gateway.
IPTV Gateway
The Avail-TVN IPTV Gateway includes the satellite dishes and receivers, IP switching, and Avail-TVN's Management and Control System (MCS).
L-Band to Receivers
Avail-TVN provides a custom, fully-redundant, L-Band router that feeds DVB-S2 receivers.
Feed Control Manager (FCM)
After demodulation in the DVB-S2 receivers, the content is transmitted to the Avail-TVN Feed Control Manager. The FCM provides numerous functions and is the basis for massive extensibility with the Avail-TVN Solution. Monitoring of all streams occurs at the FCM, in addition to providing MPEG-2 Transport Stream multiplexing, media conversion (ASI-IP, IP-ASI), scrambling services, and an interface to third party Conditional Access systems.
Avail's Management and Control System (MCS)
Providing oversight of the entire Avail-TVN IPTV Gateway is the MCS, a proprietary advanced management system used to support services such as alternative feed control for live regional sporting events (black-out management), monitoring and management of all systems, and redundant switching.
Avail's MPEG-4 Encoder
Local channels such as NBC, ABC, Fox, CBS and PBS are added into the Avail-TVN IPTV Gateway utilizing local encoders. We offer a high-quality, professional MPEG-4 encoder with options such as direct ATSC input, which allows an operator to inject SD or HD local channels.
Set-Top Boxes
An MPEG-4 Set-Top Box is required for the receipt of Avail-TVN's encoded content. We offer STB solutions that work within an endorsed Avail-TVN ecosystem from BBT, Motorola, NXTV (via CSI Digital), Scientific Atlanta, Thomson, and Tilgin.
Redundant System Architecture
Each and every state of the Avail-TVN IPTV Gateway is designed to be redundant. To ensure reliability, the IPTV Gateway components at the SHEs and carrier locations are proactively monitored and managed from the Avail-TVN Network Operations Center.
