On June 1, 2010 Jack Harvey became Interim President and Chief Executive Officer of NRTC after the retirement of Bob Phillips, who had held the position for 23 years. Harvey leads a team of professionals and staff dedicated to the cooperative’s mission of bringing advanced telecommunications solutions to strengthen member businesses and improve the quality of life in rural America.
Prior to becoming Interim President and CEO, Harvey was Senior Vice President of Business Operations for NRTC and provided technical and operational leadership to all of NRTC’s Utility Solutions, Video Services and Internet Services divisions. In this position, he maintained relationships with NRTC’s multiple business partners to expand and grow NRTC’s business units in support of both telco and electric members.
In addition, he oversaw NRTC’s Information Technology department. Mr. Harvey has been integral to business development as well as operations at NRTC. Formerly, he directed a team focused on finding and developing opportunities for NRTC rural telco and electric members to deliver leading-edge telecommunication technologies to their respective communities.
Mr. Harvey joined NRTC in 1999 as vice president of Technical Support Services after 25 years of experience in the Regional Bell Operating Companies and AT&T. Among his earlier positions at AT&T, he served as general manager of the General Business Branch.
He serves on the board of directors of Telispire, a mobile virtual network operator, and Avail-TVN, the largest independent digital media services company in North America. Formerly, he served as chairman of the Telispire board of directors and on the board of Associated Network Partners, Inc.
Jack Harvey earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Marshall University and his Master of Public Administration from West Virginia University.
