Company to Provide Next-Day Availability for All 64 World Cup Games

Sherman Oaks, CA, May 17, 2010 - Avail-TVN, the largest digital media services company in North America, today announced it has been selected by Univision to be its VOD services partner for the FIFA™ World Cup South Africa. Taking place from June 11 – July 11, the FIFA™ World Cup is the most-watched sporting event in the world.

Under an industry-wide agreement, Avail-TVN will provide a wide array of Live-to-VOD services including broadcast signal acquisition and file capture, Nielsen C3 watermark verification, encoding across multiple codecs, asset management, and distribution of both SD and HD versions for all 64 games in the tournament. In participating systems, digital subscribers will be able to access any game via On-demand for viewing at their convenience 24 hours after it aired. In addition, Avail-TVN will provide marketing support including menu mapping, barker support and other marketing services to enable easier content discovery

With a cumulative global viewership of 26.3 billion for the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, demand for access to 2010 World Cup games will be high. This represents the first time that all of the tournament action will be available via VOD.
