Leading Provider of Digital Media Services Supports Affiliates with Seasonal VOD Marketing Packages

Sherman Oaks, CA, February 3, 2010 - Avail-TVN, the largest digital media services company in North America, today announced two video on demand promotions for February. To commemorate Black History Month, historically-themed movies will be mapped to a folder of the same name; and for Valentine’s Day, the company created “I Heart Movies,” a category featuring a variety of romantically-themed titles. Both will appear as folders on operators’ VOD menus.

The promotions, which run through the month of February, will be available in over seven million households. The I Heart Movies category will feature five subcategories of romantic titles: Classic Romance; Romantic Comedies; Young Love; Love Hurts; and New Releases and contains more than 80 titles. Black History Month will feature such critically acclaimed programming as award-winning movies, The Color Purple and The Last King of Scotland as well as all episodes of the TV miniseries Roots.

“Menu categories have proven to be a great way of helping consumers navigate through the thousands of content titles available On Demand,” said Brian Matthews, Avail-TVN’s chief marketing officer. “Our data has shown increases in buy rates of up to 150% for affiliates with the promotional menu categories versus those without and we are seeing the popularity of this unique tactic increasing throughout the industry as it continues to drive uptake.”

Avail-TVN currently offers at least two themed programming stunts each month in addition to supporting categories created by Studios around new release tent pole titles. By providing programming stunts and menu promotions, Avail-TVN helps its affiliates guide their customers to programming they might not always find through existing menu structures. Avail-TVN is providing additional on-air support for their February stunts through the barker channel it produces for its affiliate partners.
