TVN Entertainment Leverages VOD Success To Capitalize On Marketing
VOD Provider Expands Marketing Program as Part of Increased Investment in Advanced Services
Burbank, California, May 18, 2008 - TVN Entertainment Corp., the world’s largest television on-demand company, today announced a major expansion of marketing services offered to their VOD affiliates and network partners. In addition to growing its current customized barker services and promotion sweepstakes, TVN will enable affiliates to market VOD on the web by creating integrated marketing materials via its affiliate website to allow online promotion, navigation and search functionality for VOD content.
In the last year, the company’s success with customized marketing strategies yielded an increase in network participation in TVN’s barker program of more than 100 percent, from 31 to 74 providers. In addition, demand from affiliates continues to grow, with Atlantic Broadband signing on as TVN’s latest customized barker affiliate.
This growth in programmer involvement, as well as increased affiliate interest has led TVN to commission Lieberman Research Worldwide to conduct a two-part research study on increasing barker effectiveness and driving revenue through barker promotion. Results from part one of the study demonstrate that VOD barker messaging is a leading component affecting decision-making and that consumers are open to being influenced by their promotional messages.
The growth in marketing services includes the hiring of additional resources in both the production services and affiliate marketing areas with plans to expand further over the coming year. In addition, TVN plans to capitalize on the success of its Watch To Win promotional sweepstakes program by now offering it every six months to maintain the momentum it brings to the movie category. Launched to drive awareness and sampling, the campaign offers consumers the chance to win a prize by watching one of a select group of VOD movie trailers. Previous campaigns have resulted in increased usage among current and importantly brought in new users of VOD, as well as increased movie buy rates.
